Welcome to the CJS PTFA website page:

Chellaston Junior School PTFA is a registered charity, run on a voluntary basis by an enthusiastic group of parents and staff.

It was founded in 2010 and began orgainsing events and raising money for the school. Since then, it has grown and evolved, and over the last decade, has successfully raised thousands of pounds to enhance the education and well-being of CJS pupils and improve the schools’ facilities.

Some of the many events that have helped raise money include, discos, Christmas and Summer Fayres, Bingo and Quiz Nights, Fashion Shows, cake sales, Secret Santa and treasure hunts.  These have helped improve the school playground facilities, fund school trips and theatre and pantomime visits, Year 6 leavers gifts, refreshments for sports days, buy new library books, IPADs for the classroom.  These are just some of the contributions that the PTFA has been able to make.

Aims of CJS PTFA:

Our PTFA is about much more than simply fundraising.  Its aims include:

  • Organising a range of fun and exciting social events that bring families together to create a sense of school community
  • A forum for bringing parents, teachers and staff closer together to build and foster positive relationships.
  • Providing an opportunity for parents to make a tangible difference to the children’s educational experiences, and to feel proud of their contributions and achievements.

The PTFA Committee:

Chair – Charmian Nicklin

Secretary – Tracey Armstrong

Treasurer – Claire Palmer

School Link – Steve Beeston

Who can get involved?

All parents, families, staff and members of the community are welcome to become involved and automatically become members of the PTFA.

Our PTFA meet on a regular basis.  Whether you have the time to become a committee member or help out at social events, your contribution will help

enormously.  We are looking for further volunteers to join our team, bring new ideas and use their strengths and expertise in order to develop further the success of the PTFA.   Let us continue to work together and make a real difference for our pupils and our school.
